Daniela Designs specialises in bespoke kitchens and residential joinery, including sculleries, laundries, wardrobes, bathroom vanity units, media rooms, mud rooms, living rooms and any other living spaces. We believe thoughtful design is highly valuable for a home and should be accessible to everyone for every scale of project. No matter the size or scale of your project, we approach all our designs with the same considered approach to planning, proportion, functionality, materials and detail.

Do you work with a particular joinery manufacturer?

Daniela Designs is an independent design studio and is not tied to a particular manufacturer or joinery company, however can recommend selected trusted joiners that we work with. We can also work alongside your preferred joiner or recommend suitable joinery manufacturers where appropriate.

What does the design process involve?

We begin with an initial conversation to understand your home, lifestyle, priorities and aspirations for the space. This is followed by a Site Briefing Consultation, where we explore the existing space in more detail and establish the design direction.

The design then progresses through concept development, 3D visualisation, material and finish selection, refinement and documentation, before being prepared for pricing and manufacture.

How long does the design process take?

The timeframe depends on the scope and complexity of the project. As a guide, the initial Concept Design Development stage generally takes approximately 2–3 weeks, followed by around 2 weeks for detailed documentation once the design direction has been approved. Because good design involves considerably more than producing a floor plan or selecting cabinetry.

Every element is carefully considered in relation to the whole — including proportions, circulation, storage, functionality, materials, sightlines, appliances, lighting and the way the space connects with the rest of the home.

This is particularly important in smaller spaces, where careful planning is often required to make the most of every millimetre.

What is included in your design service?

Depending on the scope of your project, our design services can include spatial planning, detailed layouts, 3D visualisation, elevations, joinery design, material and finish selections, appliance integration and comprehensive documentation for pricing and manufacture.

The exact scope is confirmed in your proposal before work begins.

That's important because clients increasingly compare designers based on exactly what their fee includes — layouts, elevations, finishes, lighting, renders, documentation and revisions.

How much does your design service cost?

Our design fees are based on the scope and complexity of your project and are clearly outlined before any design work begins. Our initial 30-minute introductory call is complimentary and provides an opportunity to discuss your project and determine whether our services are the right fit.

If you would like to proceed, the next step is our Site Briefing Consultation, which is a one-off $200 fee including GST.

Because Daniela Designs is independent from the joinery manufacturer, our design fees are separate from the cost of manufacturing and installation. This gives you clarity over what you are paying for and allows you to choose the joinery manufacturer that best suits your project.

Do I need to know my budget before contacting you?

Not necessarily. However, having an approximate budget in mind is helpful because it allows us to make informed recommendations about materials, appliances, joinery construction and the overall scope of the design.

We don't expect you to have every detail worked out before our first conversation.
